Between May 5, 1960 and December 31, 1960, Archerfish steamed 44,151.6 miles, using 605,560 gallons of marine diesel fuel. We submerged 125 times and, thankfully, surfaced the same number. A total of 86.1 hours were spent submerged. The time between leaving the shipyard in May and returning to New London in December included 62 days in port and 153 days at sea.

Following departure from New London in January 1961, and prior to return to Pearl Harbor in April 1962, 176 days were spent in port and 263 days were spent at sea. Archerfish had not been at a Homeport for 375 days.
